In this unprecedented time, we find a great increase in the demand for services offered by small grassroots nonprofits at the same time that available resources are shrinking.  Strong financial management systems are even more critical now-during a time of uncertain cash flows.  Nonprofits need timely, accurate financial reports to guide them through the next two-plus years.

To help meet this crisis, MDI Consulting is proud to offer an exciting capacity-building opportunity for nonprofits.  We have been awarded a $30,000 grant to provide technical assistance to small, grassroots nonprofits. With this grant, MDI Consulting is offering up to $4,000 worth of pro-bono consulting services to approximately ten qualified organizations. Potential consulting project work could include, but is not limited to:

  • Assessment of internal controls
  • Board training in financial management
  • Review of chart of accounts
  • Creation of board reports and agency dashboards
  • Identification of and assistance in the design of a new accounting system

Environmental, criminal justice, and arts organization with budgets of less than $1 million are invited to apply by September 15 for up to $4,000 worth of consulting services.

Along with the completed application form, please submit a copy of your organizational budget for the current fiscal year and the latest financial statements (balance sheet and income statement).   Applications must have nonprofit status or be working with a fiscal conduit.
